well , guys and gals; it`s happened again! the carshow and cruise season has come to an end for those of us in the great lakes area. personally, i think one of the best in recent memory. a warm spring got us out early, followed by a summer that had very few events rained out. that was followed by a beautiful fall that allowed shows and cruises right up until october 28. that will make the off season seem shorter. sometimes i envy those of you in the south and west for your yearround weather. however, the thrill of seeing old friends after a four or five month absense and the dusting off of our rides for a new season, helps to make up for it.

We have one to go on Saturday. It should be a nice day in the mid to high 50s and a few hundred cars at the Markets at Shrewsbury, York County PA. Come on down!

al,--------thanx for the info and the invite. i`m afraid the budget could only handle lawrence or beaver county at this time. not to mention that shrewsbury looks to be about a 6 hour drive. it would be nice to meet someone from the site. maybe some other time?

would one of your cousins be adorning ( or adoring ) your car? a little incentive might work here, doncha know.

I know the feeling guy's, went to a swap meet on Sunday and had to break out the ice scraper to clear the windshield before i left the house. Hopefully we'll be able to get in a few garage crawls to help the winter speed by.

Even though it was hot this summer the evenings were "right" for topless cruizin. Made the most of it this year. I have heat in the Roadster so I haven't packed it away just yet. Already planning mods and upgrades for this winter. Got my T-shirts over the weekend, so I guess I'mgonna start planning for Springfield!!!!

hey wayne,---how`s it going? i plead guilty to the M&M`s. i think the ho hos were a throw away line on an earlier post. couldn`t afford a single ho, much less a pair (as if i had need!!) not dressing for trick or treat, but when i do i have green hand paint and a herman munster mask. talk about typecasting!!stay in touch over the winter. maybe i`ll catch you at tha rapid tappets dust-off in new castle; mid-may? audrey and i send regards to jan.

6 hours would be a nice cruise Denny, maybe a 3 gas stop. I'd like to entice you to come, but the only babes around Shrewsbury are Amish!!!.....they won't pose for photos - LOL!

It was a great summer even though trips for work cut out some of the beginning and end. How many of you guys are planning to go to the Streetrodding.com get together July 4th weekend next year? I keep my 32 on the ground until the first salting of the roads. I actually had it out in November last year. Drove it to work yesterday with a beautiful sunny day. Dennis, I just looked up McDonald, Ohio and we aren't too far from each other. I don't imagine that you get as much lake affect snow as we do. My brother who lives just north of Myrtle Beach rubs it in all winter long about their weather. Of course I get to rub it in when it is 98 degrees with 95% humidity in the summer down there.

Denny, don't listen to Al. If he only sees Amish girls he is looking in the wrong places. Yeah, their there, but not in any numbers. The Saturday show in Shrewsbury only happens once a year and it's the first weekend in November (Christmas toy roundup), all other shows are on Friday evenings, on the fourth friday of each month. To make one of those you would need to leave your home around 8 AM to get there early enough for a place to park and a hotel room to stay before heading home on Saturday. Other than those minor incoveniences we would love to have you attend.

BTW, Al, this is the last event of 2007 here, but if you're interested, they are planning a cruise to end the winter blahs at the Amish Market on February 2, 2008 with a Snow date of February 16th. Hope you can make it for that one too.

mcduff,---i know that we`re pretty close, picked up on your hometown soon after i joined the site. do you ever go to ashtabula on sunday nights? i could probably work in 1 or 2 next year. the snowbelt hasn`t reached as far south in recent years, but in it`s heyday we used to get clobbered with some frequency. i was raised in youngstown and remember the 36" snow in 1950.-----i`m hoping to be able to go to springfield, but don`t want to commit just yet. maybe we can travel together if it works out for me?

Hmmmm - a February cruise in PA, Bob............ I don't think I'll be sitting out in my lawn chair, but if the temp is above 50, I'd think about it. Usually, it is about half that in early February. Those guys in the Sunbelt make me jealous. I bet they don't even own thermal underwear.

That poor girl on your car isn't wearing thermal's. How cold could it be HA HA. Al, I will try and do some pictures on the site as soon as I can. But I can't find any babs. Tammy won't send her cousin to NY with a bathing suit.

Dennis, I haven't gotten to ashtabula much but did make one at the Lake this year with my buddy who did the work on that 51 Ford Pickup that was on the cover of Summit's catalog last month. It is a beautiful setting. I made Summit, Hartville twice, and some local shows this summer.

For sure let me know if you plan to go to Springfield next year. I plan on leaving real early on Friday morning to get there in the afternoon and drive back on Monday. I may rethink the trip up but have a room for Fri-Sun nights. I still don't know if my wife can get off from Lowes over that weekend. I do plan on trailering because my back won't hold up to the 550 miles in the 32. They are talking lake affect snow for Tues/Wed this week. YUCK.

Tom

Well, I finally got to meet Bob (AKA orphans2) and his very nice 34 Plymouth at Shrewbury on Saturday. Sorry - there were no babes around, and most everybody was staying warm in the market. I'm glad I did wear my thermals!!!

soooo,al,---you guys had a real cool cruise then??; bet you can`t wait for the one in february. it wasn`t the gas stops that prevented me from coming, rather it was the financial implications from them.. much more of bushs economic prosperity and i`ll be filing for bankruptcy.

tommy,---i`ve seen that 51 pickup, really a gorgeous piece!!! i was up to summit for supersummit and the all-chevy show. do you go to pops show at hartville, or are there cruises there that i`m unaware of?

Just keep thinking warm guys...it won't be long before you are warmed up in Springfield. Last night we had our first real taste of cold....27 degrees but back to 50 today. Should be in the 60's tomorrow but with gas at $3.19 I won't be doing much cruisin.
