Now I'm really jazzed. Got my frame back from the powder coater's, assembled the suspension for the last time, put in the brake lines and trans cooler, and got my motor & trans painted and dropped into the chassis yesterday. Usually you have a picture in your head of how something is goin to turn out, but will settle for something close. Well, this is turning out better than I imagined. I guess all my anal attention to detail over the past few years is now paying off. Can't wait to get the body back from the painter's

For some reason I can't seem to add photos to my original post, so I'll try here.

Robert....beautiful frame..... I would make one small suggestion.... you may want to safety wire those front calipers on... I have a friend that had one come off at about 70mph.... not pretty....any aircraft mechanic can do it...

Thanks guys. By the time the body comes back from the painter's, I should have everything ready to set it in place Hey Jeff, You buildin the new one on the road, or are you goin to wait till you get moved in. Good luck with the relocation. Are you goin to be able to get back to CA. for the GNRS or L.A. Roadsters anytime? Big Al, thanks for the reminder about the safety wiring. Things are goin together quickly now. I hope to have it on the road sometime next summer.

Robert, Looks fabulous!!! I've always used "loctite blue" on caliper bolts.. Stainless safety wire would look trick tho.

Robert, just out of curiosity, what did it cost to have your frame powder coated and what would it have cost for paint? Not trying to start anything here just wondering, Thanks for the info.

No problem Mike. It cost me $340 to have the frame, the removeable crossmember, and the brake pedal arm sandblasted and powder coated and these guys did a really good job of protecting all the threaded holes. I spent quite a bit of time preping the frame before I took it over to them though. I boxed all the shock mounts and radius rod mounts, cleaned up some of the welds, smoothed any sharp edges and ground smooth any gouges and large scratches. The thing looks like black glass. I still have the fender and running board braces to take over there yet. I don't think I could have preped and painted the frame for that price.

Robert, you have to be stoked right now. What a great feeling to see the final touches. The greatest reward is yet to come when you finally get to drive it on the road. Great looking job! Keep the pics coming because we all enjoy them.
