I have had one call on my truck and that was on another site. On this site I had the owner of one of those hi priced Harleys want to trade---ya right! Been there done that! Not much going on-going to put a overdrive trans in it for some economy.

If it makes you feel any better BigDude I showed it to my 10 year old son and he is saving his money to buy it. He has about $900.00 and adding to that $2.50 per week. Maybe I need to raise his allowance to speed things up. :-)

It's a weird economy for sure. I've closely checked out your pick 'em up and stillkruzn's Mustang, both very nice rides but neither are what I'm looking for, or in my price range.

it's been my findings that if ur not getting any interest it's priced to high. it's looks to be a very nice truck but trucks are a limited market they don't sell any where near what a coupe/sedan would.

i feel your pain , big dude. mine`s been listed for two months now,--over a thousand looks and only one e-mail from a guy with a project wanting info on my ventless side windows. i think that it`s fairly priced, i`ve seen many in that range! some more expensive show trucks and some less expensive restorations. how does anyone know if it`s overpriced if they haven`t called to find out all the details? hope we both have better luck next month.

You know guys sometimes when you have a great description on your vehicle there is really no reason to call with questions. Remember the show season is not quite over in the North and Midwest.

hey big dude just a thought how about changeing the add . put in it about dependability of the truck and that it is a driver . most people see that it is blown and get scarred away . let's all remember the high dollar prostreet 55 chevy out of florida . guess what it sold and the seller is happy . i sold my 53 plymouth delivery on this sight with over 2000 lookers and over 40 request for more photo's and such . i too was getting a little worried but one night the guy that bought it out of canada had run across this sight by accident . he told me he was not searching for anything or brand of car when he seen the delivery he decided he had to have it . i believe i made myself a friend in canada . the fella calls all the time on how pleased he is . i guess what everyone is trying to say is hang in there . my self this is the time of the year i look for cars to make those long winter nights go by faster working on my new toy . good luck bob in ny

I have re-listed my truck, been on this site for about a year now and no calls at all. Trucks are a hard sell even when they are nice. Not sure why I like trucks myself and you see plenty of them out and about.

I will consider all reasonable offers and possible trades!!!! Any BUYERS out there?

Trucks are a tough sell. They cost just as much as a car to build, but given a choice between a car or a truck for the same purchase price, most rodders are going to choose a car. Not to discount trucks at all because I love trucks, it just the way the market seems.

Yep

Trucks are a hard sell.

Thats why I stopped buildem years ago.

31 Tudor's got it right---Cost just as much to build, but when ya sell it's maybe 50 cents on the $$

may be my location, but I've never had a problem turning trucks,

Greg, being that youv'e had so many lookers it has to be one of to things, The Price or the Blower. I've never seen your truck up close but it looks really good.

One thing about the trucks is they won't bring to same money as a coupe or sedan no matter what you do, I've had some really nice truck but they always seam to max out at 35k even when they have the same setup as a Rod.

In my opinion, if you pulled the blower and priced it at 34,500 you will get a lot better response.

i think the blower keeps the streetrod guys away. they hear all the stories and believe them. i'm with leon, pull the blower and sell it. do the od and a carb. might help. trucks and fordors are just tuff to move. unless your in texas, we'll drive anything.

You guys are probably right, but the blower stays for now. It runs too cool and too nice to mess with it. As far as the price-it also will stay. I see alot of vehicles out there that are plastic and are your basic cookie cars that arent as nice as this. If I could replace it with a car that I would want cheaper-it would come down. Then again I havent had any offers either-and 38k is the asking price. ( i really like it and dont care if I sell it)

I think the whole market is depressed right now, not just trucks. Recently went to a large event, lots for sale, not much moving. Friend wanted to trade his truck for street rod, even planned on throwing cash in. His truck is very, very nice, but had no takers, Not many people interested in doing a trade for a truck. Don't know if trucks have fallen from their recent hot spot, but something is definitely up.

it's not depressed, it's over. there is 35 years of old dolled up stuff out there for sale. i had one brought by here. guy had a great story about the car. only problem was i hid rust and repainted it 20 years ago and it was junk then. streetrodders are older now and retired. no overtime money to blow. more meds to pay for, kids that wont go away, raising their grandkids. it is just not the same thing anymore.

I think yours would make a much nicer ornament than a Rat rod.

As for the price on your truck, You can't replace it for what your asking, and I don't think that its to high, Im sure its well worth what your asking. Theres always a market for Nice well built rides, You just might have to wait a little while.

Hey Bigdude-- I hope you appreciate this... The light bulb just came on in my head. It does occasionally happen! I have a folder of pics I have been collecting for examples of how I want to paint MY project. I am wanting to do 2 tone blue flames on a white pearl base... I was looking in my folder and found this:

And I am certain it was from another site!

If your having problems with responce to the adds you have placed, tweek the add more, spend a few extra bucks on the add. Tell them more about the BENEFITS of the truck and why they should own it. Where they will save money today by purchasing this truck and why. If you have had so many viewers ( 1600 plus ) in a little over an hour sure a lot are from overseas but it tells a story they are looking for a truck . Use magazines not just websites.

Price is good we in Aussy land could not build it for that. Thats the colour I'm doing my pickup but with woodgrain affect. Thanks for the tip off that they are harder to sell , I'II make sure I don't pour too much money into it.

P.S...Put words in the add that will get them excited by owning it. Every add you see has 350/350 combo with 9"diff people get used to seeing this and just skim the adds. Just another one , be different today.

I think lots of people like trucks, but tend not to buy them only because they can't haul the whole family and all the luggage to the weekend show.

As regards price you can't give them away, but no one has called me to even ask a question or to make an offer.

I will consider any REASONABLE OFFER or TRADE!!!

As I am sure Bigdude would consider the same. With REASONABLE the prime word, not offers to trade for junk.

Nice truck. Like the flames. Suggestion. I have sold alot of cars on the net. 2 on this site. While You think you have the best deal out their, take some time and surf the net for 39 and 40 trucks. Check options that they have and you have , Like leather interior, Lacara wheel, paint , type wheels. You will find a lot of interesting information. When you are ready to buy or build if your are like me you do a lot of comparing before you lay down a few bucks. I do this on a regularly when I am ready to sell another. Remember everbody says thats my asking price. some people are afraid to offer a price, so stick a price out their that you will take. Good luck..

I have done that! Most of the trucks are stock appearing with the basic sbc and 10" or 9" rr. While mine doesnt have leather, its pretty much in the ballpark and like I said" Really dont care if I sell it" I think the market is real weak.

This is a different type cars but my son sent 27 06-07 model cars to auction last Monday and only 2 sold.It cost 35.00 for each no sale plus to leave them for next auction is 8.00 per day. There is no market for houses or cars right now.I wish we had someone in power who relized the condition of this country and spend the money we are wasting with this damn war in our own country.I saw a article where more people are homeless now than in history.Dont get me started.

Nick, I don't see your car listed ? Cars do sell on this site and they get searched about 10,000 times a day by a target audience.... as Eriq said it depends on the car and the price... there is a lot of trading going on.. I think money's pretty tight right now....my friend John Mcnally use to say "there's an ass for every seat"... sometimes it may take 5,000 lookers before that one comes along.... this is one of the few sites that will produce that many lookers....you can move your car back to the top of the lineup by renewing your ad... unless someone searches specifically for your year make model it's doubtful they will see it as it keeps moving down when new cars are listed.... Eriq has a link where you can renew an ad for $15.... still the best deal on the planet....
