Got some of my Tudor parts (fenders, hood, hood sides & some misc. parts) back from my buddie's paint shop. Man, am I jazzed! They're spectacular! He still has the body and doors. He's giving me a break by working on my car between regular full priced jobs, so it's takin a bit longer, but I'm in no hurry. Just anxious. Finished boxing the shock mounts and radius rod mounts on the frame the other day and the frame should go to the powder coater's tomorrow or Friday. Man, do I like shiny stuff. All the mock-up and fabrication is now done, so when things get back, it's all assembly. That little light at the end of the tunnel is baginning to look a lot like a big ole Model A headlight!

Along with sex, of course, one of the true heart pounding pleasures in a man's life has got to be assembling shiny stuff on one's long awaited project. Good for you, Robert. Savor the moment and remember to line the edges and corners of the fenders and doors with some masking tape. It may save you some chips and digs on your new paint. Hey, don't be surprised if your wife mentions how you were giggling in your sleep for the last few nights. No worry, perfectly normal.

I like shiney, and I like black, so I think you got a winning combo going on with your project.

Thanks guys (and gals). I'll keep you posted as things progress. At this point in the project its hard to pull myself away, but I think I had better pay some attention to things around the house for a week or two. Been ignoring that stuff for months now. Dave: thanks for the reminder about the tape at the edges. Don: this is only my 2,195th day on the project. Not bad, huh? LOL

Been pluggin away with my 29 Tudor. Everything is now finish painted and the chassis is pretty much complete (just need to add fluids and bleed the brakes). Oh yeh, I still need to install the distributer and starter. I'll insulate and undercoat the body before I set it on the chassis then its installation of fenders, splash aprons, running boards and all the other parts I've got sittin on the shelves. Also need to wire the thing. Should be able to start it in a couple months. The car is black with tan steelies so I've been thinkin about a tan fabric top to match the wheels. I just push-pinned some tan fabric on top to see what it might look like. Interior will also be tan, but that's a big ticket item so it may have to wait a while..

Robert that is truly gonna be one of the nicest A sedans out there. I know you didnt ask my opinion but I would do a black top with the tan guts if it was mine. Either way its gonna be an outstanding car.

Thanks Dave. The jury is still out on the top color. That's why I just pined some tan fabric on it. I'll do the other side with black fabric and "live with it" for a while. We'll see what it looks like once the body and fenders are all together. The top is just about the last thing to be done so I have a while before I have to decide. Jeff: Sloper (Tony) said he may be returning next year. I'll alert the neighbors! Boy, I'd really like to be able to go visit him down under.

Hey, I'm here! That's super shiney Robert and will be a real sweet ride. My 2 cents is this (and the $ is close tp parity now): I think the light color roof trim will break up the shape of the top 1/2 of the car too much and take away from the lines and look of the car as a whole. If it were a ragtop, different story. But just the same, good idea to live with it for a while mocked up.

ol bear: liftin that table saw is exactly the reason I didn't chop the top! It's not that I can't lift the thing, it's just that I didn't think I could get a straight enough line! Tony: I suppose if I were to do the tan top thing, I'd have to put an "Eddie Bauer Edition" tag on the car. Don't worry guys, I'm a long way away from doin the top.
