I sprayed Lizard skin on my car last weekend, you know, that is some really neat stuff, applied both the sound and thermal, went on well and really made the car sound solid, if you know what I mean, and looks good too. I read all the posts on here about it, and called and talked to the owner, ( freidly and helpfull ), its not cheap, but from everything I've read and heard about it I'm glad I went with it. If it insulates as well as everyone has said, I'll probably have to run my heat in the summer on my black car.

if you have black hair, just spray it on, use a comb while its still wet, and it'll keep you head cooler, BD, you could paint it gray also

Does anybody have the spray gun that Lizard skin sells that I could rent, buy or borrow? For me, the price of a new one is kind of steep for a one time use. Does anybody know if a cheap undercoat gun will work?

people will tell you a shultz gun ( undercoat ) will work. but it wont. it is designed to go on smooth and thin , forty thousands . the gun they sell is adjustable , shultz guns are not. i'd roll it on first but then you have places you missed. important part is to get complete coverage .

Thanks, I've heard about folks using a Shultz gun too, but never heard how well it did. I had though about mabey brushing it on but I didn't know how it would turn out.

I would like to use it too, but I also can't justify the cost of the gun. Has anyone used it under the hood? My Buick builds a lot of heat under the hood in the hot summer sun, and I would like to try it there if I can roll or brush it on.

I thought the cost of the gun was a bit steep also, but the Lizard Skin cost more and didn't want to screw it up with an improper applicator, I am going to sell mine but have been too busy this week to mess with it

The last time I looked on Lizard Skin's website a few months ago they had places to check out in your local area who spray on the Lizard Skin. Maybe some of you would want to check that out.
