 Say What...

Hello all, Just letting you know we picked up a '67 chevy SWB stepside for my son. We will start working on it soon. I will try to post pictures soon as well. I have some questions for those in the know. I want to convert to PB, with disc front 5 -lug front and back. Is there any other year model truck that will interchange with the '67or is the expensive disk brake conversion kit the way to go. Also when converting the rear to 5 lug do you typically replace the whole rearend or just the axles. inquiring minds want to know. Thanks.

I did this swap on a 66 1/2 ton Chevy. I used a 79 suburban for a donor truck. Use the later ball joints in your control arms and then the newer spindles, tie rods x-cetera. The 66 has trailing arms for the rear end. The suburban rearend went in but, I had to use different saddles for the rearend. I have a set of those if you need some.

The disc brakes of of a 73-87 will work! change ball joints on your control arm from a 73-87 and you'll have to round out the holes a little bigger for th ball joints to slid in! Use the spindle assb .from the 73-87 and your all set!! The power brake unit will work also!!We have done a lot of them . It's easy There in the wrecking yards cheap! Just remember to meassure the thickness of the disc. to make sure you have the right year on both .They two different thickness 1' and 1 1/4" That way you can put drop spindles on it also!!
