I am trying to find out some info on quick change rears. I have one in my 32 and have replaced the pinoin seal twice so far and it is leaking again after 100 miles of driving. I am in the process of having the driveshaft checked for balance. I have been told that I will not be able to run this rear without installing a resivour to hold fluid which will be needed for sustained highway speeds. Has anyone any comment about the use of these? I can only find the Stock Car Products logo anywhere on this rearend. Any comments would be appreciated. Pat

dear highway resivour when you install a driveshaft there must be a 1 inch space where the drive shaft goes into the trany. ya can't but the spline thing all the way up against the tranny. when you hit a bump, pot hole, ect lord knows what might happen!!! spyder49

Well. I don't claim to know alot about it-- but whatever is going on in the back (quick change gears), has nothing to do with the pinion seal. I know the Jaguar (Dana) rear end has crush washers in the front seal area and is REAL finicky. What is the manufacture of this unit? And by the way it looks really NICE! In no way have I EVER heard of a rear end resivour!

Is it leaking bad at the pinion? Or could you be losing fluid elsewhere like out a wheel bearing?

OK guys, there is 1" play in the drive shaft so I don't think it is bottoming out. The resivor I was told about appears to be in the fill hole. After this pic was taken,I added a vent in the hole at the top of the pumpkin. It is not an overly large one, about 1/8" in diameter. I have been having this problem for over a month. It doesn't occure,it seems, until i am on an interstate running 65 or better. There is a possibility that I am overfilling. There are two plugs on the pass. side. I fill in the top one and stop when oil starts to trickle out the lower one. I am doing this with the car on jackstands in the rear so it could be a little too full. I appreciate all the info and questions.

The resivor is an addon item that a speedshop told me I would have to add to be able to run higher speeds for lengthy times. theytold me this would keep it from building too much pressure at higher speeds as it warms up.

There is no need for a resivor do u realize how long an fast those rear run in a race car. Put a good vent in it replace seal and make sure your not doing any damage as u install it. check the yoke to make sure its not worn thats most likely your problem. LOL
