Well, I just couldn't stand it anymore... I bought a new streetrod today. I didn't make it very long, I planned to take my time and not buy anything right away but I just couldn't help myself. I guess this car thing is a sickness. It's on a transport truck as we speak and should be here maybe by the weekend. I feel like a little kid waiting for Santa to get here. Pictures will follow.... I'm excited :)

I talked about getting a highboy this time, but fell in love with another 37. This one will be my 5th. I'll post some pictures once it gets here.

It should be here sunday or monday so I promise to post some pictures then. It's a glass body 37 built by a master builder in the mid west. I've owned a 37 that he built before, and the quality of workmanship is top shelf. When I found the car, I knew without asking a question who built it. The look, the quality workmanship, and details of this car made me look no more. My old car was a tough act to follow but this one has a special look that makes it very distinctive. And to those that know me....you know that I like cars that stand out. I don't want to say too much too soon, but I'm sure some of you guys will know the car when you see it. It's not a new build but it's never been seen on the West coast. I'd post pics now but they aren't very good.

The car got here this morning. It's a Downs body car with removable top built by Jerry Beard in Ill. a couple of years ago. I spotted it here in the event coverage of Louisville and chased down the owner in Frankfort, Ky. It runs a carbureted 350 with 700R4, full leather interior, several body modifications (check out the radius'd doors and rocker panels). The bottom is as nice as the top, the car runs and drives great. It's much more comfortable than my last 37 and although not as radical as the Oze car, so far everyone thats seen this car loves the look. I've owned a car that Jerry built a few years ago and was very happy with it...on the surface this one seems even better.

Yep, I could live with that, and I like it much better than an Oze car. Enjoy the ride, and when you get tired of it, you could sell it to me - cheap! LOL!

Gary you're right, it was Scott's car. Although I'm now the 3rd owner it's new to CA and will seem 'new' to those that have never seen it. I can't wait to get it out on the road.

Thanks guys, I think I found a nice one. I'll make a few little changes to it to suit my taste, but I really look forward to hitting the road with this one. No more trailering with this one.

Thanks Robert. I was considering the GNRS but frankly I don't like indoor shows much (I like going to them but not doing them... too much time and preparation). Del Mar for sure, I really like that show. Probably won't do LA Roadsters, I usually go to the Pismo Beach Show on that weekend. Anytime I go south, I'll be sure to let you know.
