i've been looking for a good solid body car for a while now and i can't seem to find anything from where i am. i live in central MN near St.Cloud. any half way good looking car for sale around here the person selling it wants a gold mine for, so me and a couple buddies are going take a little road trip to ND to find some pretty much rust free cars. one of my friends know people who live out there and know of some places with old cars. so is there and where else in the midwest area that you guys know of good solid cars for sale. i'm looking for anything i can get basicly, muscle cars, hot rods, 50's trucks. i'm thinking we're going to take off for ND this up comeing weekend its about an 8 hour drive so if theres any place else we could stop in between St.Cloud in some place in ND for good car hunting let me know

Hey, Karl............you need to narrow your target down to a specific year, make, body style. Otherwise you will never find that jewel that makes your liver quiver.

Go to rod runs, car shows, and cruize nites and see what makes you slobber.

Good luck.

Jim, bangin' on old cars since 1957

Karl, I agree with Jim that you need to narrow down your search. There are literally thousands of possible cars out there for you. Don't restrict yourself to your immediate area. Check out places like StreetRodding.com or many of our advertisers like Cars of the Times

alright, so my dad wants a 65' impala 2 door and i'm looking for a 56 chevy half ton stepside. but for my first car i don't have to have what i want, theres a lot of time for that. i just need a good solid car for my first one. i like a lot of different GM muscle cars and some of the ones that aren't so popular, because i like to stick out with things that a lot of peaple don't see very often. thats why i kinda like my 78 boat of a bonneville, nobody has seen a 2 door bonneville hotrodded out. i get quite a few double takes and curious people comeing up to me and talking to me about the car. so if i run by a 65' impala i'll buy it because its the only old car my dad ever wanted and for me i'm just looking for a good solid bodied chevy or a 56' half ton if i run across one

Your Dad has excellent taste. My mom had a 1965 Impala SS with a 396 and that is why I always wanted a big block car. I can tell you that in my neck of the woods Impalas are very hot, and very popular and never cheap. I would be willing to trade my RS/SS Camaro for an Impala or GTO in similar condition but so far no takers. As for your Bonneville, I remember a great 78 boat like yours that was a cool sleeper at the local race track. Really surprised many of the track regulars.
