raise the rear of the car to let the block drain completely while flushing. i do this before removing an engine so it wont make a mess.

Two ways to go...buy a radiator flush OR use Cascade automatic dish washer soap. My wife worked at a national trucking firm and that is all they would use on the trucks. I have used it and it works just fine. Run the engine for a while just like the directions on the radiator flush, then drain, fill with water and run, flush etc until the water that you drain out runs clear. Now is a good time to check your radiator cap and hoses too. Don't forget to turn the heater on.

Truck shops use auto dish soap to clean the cooling systems from oil,and fuel after an oil cooler , or injector sleeve fails. the auto dish soap wont foam up and cuts the oil. to get all the old coolant out of Rodrunner's ride, one of those kits you get at the auto parts store works very well, remove a heater hose and install the tee that connects to your garden hose and flush the crap out. the kit is designed to go inline of a heater hose and then left there capped off after the flush. on our way cool street rods that wont due, better off using a short hose to connect it so that ugly little tee can be removed when the flush is done.

i feel for ya brother! nothing i hate worse than a fluid leak. i had the same problem with the old setup in my 40. thought it was the bottom rad tank, but was actually a slight flat spot on the edge of the lower neck. the neck was also curved sharply as it exited the tank & the no matter how tight the hose clamp was, it still seeped out. might check that area good before buying a new radiator. good luck!
