I recently redid the upholstery and removed the power window switches from my doors and placed them in a panel under the dash. Both windows operate very slowly now and I think I need to add relays. Does anyone have a simple relay diagram to install relays in the wiring?

Did you have anything covered around windows? could be binding.

were they slow before? try poping out the switches from the panel and see if it's the same.

I replaced the passenger window motor before I redid the interior as it was slow to the point of stopping. I then moved the switches from the door to the panel below the dash. The switches when they were in the door were mounted in a metal frame and now they are mounted under a Wabbits dash which is wood. The driver window went up and down very nice prior to the switch. I went from Chevy OEM switches to aftermarket on/off/on in the new position. I checked the windows in the channel and they do not seem to be binding in any way. The only difference from old to new is the switches and the location.

It almost has to be a dirty or bad electrical contact.

Check the ground for motors.run a kown good ground to switch and see if any help.If they worked OK before the only difference is relocation of switch I would say ground.

Try a jumper wire direct from the battery to the motor, that way you will know if it is a power loss at the switch. Lots of oem cars have the switches on the console these days, there is no reason it shouldn't work. The switch itself should not suck any voltage, so it may be a poor ground or too small wire.

Thanks to all who responded. I am going to try some of the suggestions, in particular a new ground and jumper wire directly from the battery along with cleaning the contacts at the motors. Again thanks for the responses.
