Can anubody tell me of a book on making a console for my 1934 Chevy sedan? Any suggestions? I can make a mock one of cardboard but thats as far as I can get. I cant figure what material to use for the frame. Do I use metal? Wood? etc. Thanks for the info.

Several different ways to go. First, using fibreglass. Get some green foam that will not be affected by the epoxy and shape it to your desire. Only restricted by your own mind here. Once you have the shape 'glass it with about 4 layers, remove the console from the car and chip out the foam, grind a little smooth, add kitty hair, smooth again and use Bondo for the final smoothing. Cut holes for shifter, cup holders, gauges, vents or bazooka holder, paint and reinstall. Second method...go to Home depot and get some 1" aluminum angle iron and make your shape out of it, pop riveting it together. Cover with thin 'glass panels, also pop riveting it to the frame. Cover with matching material after cutting out for the above holes. Second method is a little more difficult in that you can only bend the angle iron so much and compound curves are out of the question where the fibreglass method will only be restricted by your idea.
