I'm looking at a BB 56 Chevy sedan delivery (a real one) that is in beautiful condition. It is in very nice condition with no rust, nice paint ,big blockand good interior. The restoration was done very well. It is a great driver car and would show well but is not trailer queen quality. It need nothing other then A/C.

I know it's hard to tell without pix and seeing it but, what is the going price for these ? Are they a good buy ?

The biggest problem areas in Tri 5 Chevys are rust in the Floor Pans and Braces, Body Mounts, Inner and Outer Rockers. Make sure there are no problems in those areas as it's very expensive and time consuming to repair. Without seeing the car it's impossible to tell it's value. Tri 5 Chevy's with a recent full Frame Off Restoration should be worth 30K and up depending on the quality of the restoration. Have someone knowledgeable about Tri 5's look at it before you buy.

I'm going to agree with Shine except maybe slightly higher at $25 - $30. My brother in law has a really nice one with a/c and a 4 spd. I suspect he could get $28 for it in the right market.

If anyone who posted a recent frame off Tr1 5 that sells for 25K please let me know, I'll buy it. You can't do a frame off restoration for that kind of money. Have you purchased any Tri5 chrome or stainless lately? Shine how much do you get for a Tri 5 paint job?

hey tom i agree with dixie if you can find a nice done car for around 35,000.00 go for it . if it has all the bells and whistles better yet . i have a 1 of a kind 53 plymouth delivery with every thing . loaded modern drive line and all . i'm asking around that same price of 35,000.00 so they are out there . look to see if there are any on this web sight to buy or at least compare apples to oranges . like shine said it's all in the eye of the beholder . good luck and keep on rodding bob in ny

had it been a ht it would run higher. sedan deliveries have always been a little lower. not as many buyers for them. most deliveries had very little stainless to start with. unless it is really trick i dont see 30+ unless you find someone looking for one. a delivery will cost about 4k more to paint. with no pics it's hard to say but just because it's a tri5 does not make it golden.

Dixie, you may be right about Billy's but he did not do a frame off restoration and the HOK paint is nearly 10 years old. Someone would have to be looking for SD with a 4 spd to go to $30 or higher. It is one of the nicest I have seen, and it might go for over $30 if freshened up, but that means more investment.

tri5 prices are off the grid right now. theres some awsum cars being built and sold. it's just the new market. cars that were worth 10k are suddenly worth 25. some are , some aren't. just depends on the right car and right buyer to get together

Tri5 hard tops right now are less desirable then 2 door post cars. A plain jane 150 2 door sedan post car will bring more money then an equivelant hard top without all the air leaks. I'm also not to sure about the value of a delivery compared to the others. Tri5's are definetly bringing in the bucks right now, I just hope it continues. I recently spoke to a pretty knowledgeable rodder who asked me why I thought Tri5's are so hot at the moment. I believe most of the rodding old timers grew up with the 50's cars and can relate more to them then the pre 48 cars. Just my opinion.

Dixie, you're right about it being a low mileage vehicle. It's been north once or twice, but mostly just Florida shows. Biggest reason it don't get much use lately is his leg problem and the car's heavy duty clutch. He likes the 4 spd and won't entertain the thought of converting it to an auto. He had mentioned to me last summer that he had given some thought about selling it, but he has not pursued that thought. We'll see you in about two months, will be down for the Nats.

Orphan Billy found out about that hard to push clutch, found out it had a super big strong spring on it changed it BINGO soft clutch. ED told me the other day. Shine got a buddy almost finished with a 210 mega buck car,but car has a really bad stance.

Your right Johns56. My 56 Bel Air 2 door post is an original 54,000 mile car thats been frame off resto'd. Was a 6 cylinder 3 speed, now a 350, four speed. Recently someone asked if I would sell it and for how much. I replied it would take 40K to buy it. After I thought about it a while I realized it would be a steal at 40K. From now on if someone asks, its not for sale. Why sell it and start over? The price of parts are sky rocketing.
