I remember the 5 lug bolt pattern for Ford and Chevy are different, but don;t remember what they are. I bought one of those plastic bolt pattern templates, but don't remember what they are.

Anyone have the info or a web site where I can find the info. I need new brake shoes for the 40 Tudor and would like to give the part store guys a running chance at identifying what I need. I can measure the shoe width and the drum diameter, but I think I need to give them the manufacturer if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Most ford patterns will be 5 lug 4 1/2 inch bolt circle and Chevy will be 5 lug 4 3/4. If the rearend chunk can be removed from the housing good chance it is a ford 8 or 9 inch. If there is an inspection cover on the rear end housing it is most likely Chevy.

If the rear bolt circle is 4 3/4 and the third member AKA rearend chuck can be removed from the front it could also be an early Chevy say 55 / 64. 55-57 used leafs....58-68 used coils. So if you see where coils were mounted at one time, it could very well be a GM 58-64....................I think I got those years right? Also, if you bring a shoe to the store, they should be able to match to pictures. Ask them to look in their "illustated buyers guide".............................that's usually a pic book.......................................(Napa guy 25+ years)
