It's probably gone on to it's great reward, but....My brother had a 63 Sport Fury "Golden Commando"383 pushbutton, RARE CONVERTABLE, red w/white top, back when we were young. I got to drive it (& race it) during my high school days & after while he served our country in the Marines. Man was that car fast!!! What a FUN machine! I would love to own one again, but the prices have skyrocketted on the old early factory muscle cars.

BUT....if someone had pics of such an iron I would sure love to see them.

Sorry...I'm welling up here, just thinking of her....GREAT memories!

This is the only picture I found. So your convertible must have been very rare.

I believe it was a very rare edition! We bought it from the head mechanic at the Chrysler dealership when it was 1 yr old. He may have tweeked it! I remember it had factory emblems below the Sport Fury logos that said:

Golden Commando

383

Power

I've looked all around over the years, but NEVER saw another like it.

My brothers best friend had a 62 Savoy with the factory, 12:1 compression 413 dual quads & headers out the fender wells, that was run at the Nationals in 62 or 63. Supposedly won its S/S class & was retired for a newer car. His dad was a salesman there, so he had a hotline to hot ones! O'Shaughnessy Chrysler Plymothe campaigned a number of 426 wedges & Hemis during the 60s. What glory days!

We couldn't touch that monster!
