I am thinking of making the run to Kalamazoo for the Street Rod show. Where is the show held, where is the host hotel and any recomendations for motels to stay at while I am there.

Tim the show is at the Kalamazoo county fairgrounds. The host hotel is the Clarion on 3600 E. Cork Street. I would recomend you try and get a hotel on the west side of town. This is a great show to go to. The swap meet is very large. The city is happy to have us and, very nice fair ground.

Its at the county fairgrounds which is about 3 miles from the host motel which is on Cork st. There are a ton of motels in that area. Let me know if you need more info. you should be able to get more info on the kalamazoo web site.

Tim, this is a great show, lots of cars, lots of vendors. We have always stayed about 15 minutes east in BattleCreek. The Days inn is just at the exit ramp and has always been $50 cheaper than anything i've found in Kalamazoo. Also there is less line ups at the restaurants.

We used to stay West of town. There were 4 hotels all together and it was like a little car show at night there. Lots of great people at K'zoo. You will love it, if you go. Got to meet Brian41, Big dude and lildude there. Just don't let lildude get next to your car with a sawzall!!
Thanks a lot for the information. Right now I am planning on making the show. Don't think I will be driving the 32 as that 1 1/2 hour wait at the Canadian border is a real pain in the a$$ in a street rod. I'll be checking on motels and sending in my reservation this week. Again thank you.
Tim, the wait at the border is nothing if you know which bridge to cross. Contact me before you travel and i will explain how to beat the traffic at Niagara. If you cross into Michigan at Port Huron it is fairly quick as well.
