A friend called a few minutes ago, HE IS A NON-AUTOMOTIVE GUY, and said his Aunt is to old to drive now and has a 1977 400 Grand Prix that he is selling for her.

My question, since I know ZERO about GM's 400 could anyone shed light on wether it has any value? It has 85,000 miles on it, and very possibly these engines are a dime a dozen, so comments are most welcome.

Her service guy told her that someone might want the engine, tranny, and limited slip rear.

Thank You for any and all comments.

Its a Pontiac big 400, decent engine, but not really worth awhole lot. mybe to a GTO guy, even though its a wrong year, they could still use it. You can hook them up to a GM trans like a 700r4, but you need a B.O.P. adapter. I would think if its complete and a 2 barrel carb, maybe $300- $500 tops for the engine.

I would agree with streetrodder about the value. If it was a Chevrolet you could get some cash for it, build a stroker like I did way back when.
