Looking to buy a new air compressor... was looking at a 5hp 60 gal tank.. To run air tools and a sand blaster.

Ingersoll rand is the brand its a two stage..Any help would be nice.

I recenetly purched an I.RAND 7.5 horse 80 gallon tank two stage and love it. I did put an auto drain on it too help with those times when you forget to drain it. I found that Tractor Supply was cheaper than anyone else if you have one near by it is worth looking in to.

Depending on the size of your blaster you need to make certain the compressor can keep up, and blasting requires a good amount of air volume, and moisture free air. I said VOLUME, not to be confused with PRESSURE. A good filter and water trap devise are a must. There are some nice drawings of do it yourself ways to run your lines and install a home made trap too.

I personally prefer a PISTON compressor compared with a diaphram type, IMO.

The 80 gallon will give you 33% more time in between run time compared to the 60 too, and often the price isn't that much different.

A automatic tank drain is a nice option, have you ever seen or heard of a compressor tank exploding? It isn't a nice thing.

I wish you well,

I have a single stage 6.5 HP Campbell Hausfield I got at Lowes. I use it for air tools and a bead cabinet. It works well especially for the price. It is high on the cfms, like 13.9. No doubt the dual stage is better.
