Just finished installing 81 malibu front clip and rear end ,454 b.b.c. ,under new project,1955 studebaker champion (speedster),has anybody done this swap before,looks like headers are going to be a problem, ground clearance,i think patroit shorty headers will work?? would like to run side exhaust.Thanks for any help.

Been there done that-

Yer best bet is to find a local shop to bend ya up sum tubes.

Did a 53 with a nova clip and a Big block about 10 yrs ago.

Tried about 6 differat set and nutin worked. Had a custom set built.

Bite the bullet now and spend the bucks.

I had the same problem,....finding a full lenght header ('57 Chev, sbc w/ air ride) that was NO lower that the chassis. I called Williams Classic Chassis Works at 909-352-1352. Problem solved. They had the big primary tubes, long 3" collector, fit perfect and the service was excellent. Very expensive, as top quality always is, but, they were perfect. When is the last time you ever said that about an aftermarket part???

When you call, your talkin to Mr. Williams himself. Tell him what you have and ask his opinion.
