Off Shore Junk

I recently returned to Sears a pair of Craftsman pruning shears we've had for several years as the lock mechanism wore out. Sears replaced them with a made in China pair, they lasted less then 2 weeks. Went back to Sears and could not find a pair that were not made in China, so I got my money back. Went to Lowes who also does not carry any made in USA shears, almost all their shears were also made in China. Bought what I thought were the best they had which were assembled in Mexico with parts made in Taiwan and Vietnam. The only place I've found to get pruning shears made without Chinese or Vietnamese parts is eBay. I recently had problems with my 03 Trailblazer blower motor and replaced a made in Mexico resistor pack with a made in Slovenia unit purchased at Autozone. Unfortunately this inferior garbage has made its way into the Automotive aftermarket industry. I recently read an internet thread on sbc chrome water necks made in China that rust through in a years time. How about Chinese brake rotors and wheels? Its becoming difficult to even find furniture thats made in the USA. I guess this is the end of quality Craftsman tools, as I'm sure they are now are or soon to be made in China as well. I don't know about y'all, but I'm holding out as long as I can with made in the USA products. |
