It's only been a week since the car is gone and I'm already going through withdrawals. I go out into the garage and stare at an empty stall....my wife tells her friends that I wander aimlessly through the house with an empty look on my face....I check the classifieds on SR.COM and HRHL 46 times a day....last night I gorged myself on ice cream. I think I need professional help.

the ice cream therapy will work for a multitude of problems (i use it almost daily, even without major problems) it won`t get you to a streetrod event, however.

Brady, if you take Orphans advice ("You need a new hobby or a girlfriend"), you won't have any $$$ to buy ice cream or anything else if your bride finds out. I know you miss your ride - beautiful car (and thanks for the advice on mine by the way). Get back on the pony as soon as possible but pause for a little Rocky Road along the way.

I would takedons advice, buy a beater and have fun. After owning a car like you just sold, think of how nice it would be not to worry about a paint job. You can have just as much fun driving a primered car orone that needs paint.

The right vehicle will come along. You will know it. I went for 2 years without a car before I got the Willys. I think the wife got tired of seeing my face dragging on the ground everytime we would go to a show or cruise night and basically TOLD me to get a car!

As far as a girlfriend...................... I once told my wife I was going to trade her in for 2-20's.................. she told me I wasn't wired for 220!!

Remember a budget driver can always be kept as a backup vehicle. just in case. you never know when you may need a spare!

Brady-I don't mean to add to your pain, but I just picked up copy of "Street Rod Milestones" collectors edition, and guess whose car had a 6 page "Top 10" writeup. Congrats! Just thought the others would be interested too.

Rich, I didn't know for sure when that would be published or whether they would actually write an article but was very pleased when they told me it was on the newstands. I've had pictures of my cars in mags but never had a feature article before...I strutted around here like a peacock for a week. No one around here probably saw it though since I bought every copy within a 20 mile radius. The timing sucked though, just about the time it hit...the car was gone. :-(
