Like Jeff Hobbs, I thought that this time of year I`d be posting wondering who would be going to PPG Nats in Columbus. however, life can change your plans quite unexpectedly, as the Judge and Shine recently found out. On June 19th, while undergoing a procedure to stent a cerebral anuerysm, my wife of 40 years suffered a stroke. I`m not posting this for sympathy, She`ll be home July 12th, after only 23 days. walking witha cane and still facing outpatient therapy. While prayers for her continued recovery will be appreciated, my hope here is that each of you will take time to appreciate the things that are really important to us. streetrodding and carshows can become pretty insignificant in a real hurry.God bless you all, and please keep your priorities in order.

Sincere prayes for you and your wife. You are right, we all are guilty of taking the "good life" for granted, when it can go away in a hearth beat.

You're absolutely right Dennis, our hobbies do become pretty insignificant to things like this. I've always said that the greatest thing about our lifestyle is the PEOPLE, people who are more than happy to include you and your wife in our prayers! What a great place to hang out! God speed to both of you.

Dennis - First of all, what is your bride's name? I like to pray specifically (although He knows who I am talking about) but also, I have placed you, your bride and your family in our prayer circle at church and you will be prayed for 24/7.

May Almighty God place you in the cup of His precious hand, protect your wife, you and your family, heal her, and bring you all peace beyond all understanding.

You will remain in my prayers and the prayers of all members of the Creekmore family. Please e-mail me at creekmore@ulm.edu and give me her name, your home address as our folks may want to write to her wishing her God's speed in her recovery. God Bless you my friend.

Dennis, First of all congratulations on 40 years of marriage. That is an accomplishment! I thought a lot about what you said about appreciating what we have. I also have a great wife who actually talked me into buying the 32 four years ago. I am guilty as sin of taking this great woman for granted. I hope and pray that your wife can have a full recovery and the two of you can share many more memories. God Bless and tell her the Streetrodding. com community is really pulling for her.

We want to be here for the great SR folks to hear the stories but also to give our support. Never consider it sympathy to share your spiritual needs with those of us here. Take good care of your lovely bride of 40 years as she recovers. Our prayers are with you here in Illinois.

FELLOW STREET RODDERS - TAKE A MOMENT AND REREAD THE POSTS ABOVE. THAT'S WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT. I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THIS SITE AND THE FANTASTIC FOLKS THAT POPULATE IT. BEING HERE IS SO MUCH MORE THAN "THINGS" AND THAT IS SO APPARENTELY THE CASE WITH YOU GUYS AS YOU DROP THE CONVERSATION ABOUT THINGS AND IMMEDIATE EMBRACE "PERSON - PEOPLE" WHEN THEY NEED US. NICE PLACE TO BE - NICE PEOPLE TO BE AROUND.

HAVE A BLESSED DAY AND AUDREY, PESTER HIM NOW AND AGAIN!!

God Bless both of you,I feel like I know what you are going thru.In 96 I was told I had mouth and throat cancer well during surgery I had a major stroke.Three months later I could walk with help and just keep fighting this darn illness and when I though all was going well my wife of 50 years was told she had mouth and throat cancer.Dotor says in 40 years he has never heard of couple having same cancer and 32 days later she had to have a arutro valve replace and replaced with a pig valve. Now we are doing OK so there is hope.

Gosh Hotrodgene, you have been through so much. Thank the Lord you and your wife are doing so much better. I can say that prayer works and your cancer story reminded me. We had a friend of my husband who developed tongue cancer (never smoked or chewed) and we thought for sure we were going to lose him. Well we prayed all the time for him and I am happy to say he is doing very well and is actually back to work. They nearly lost everything financially but we told the devil to take his hands off of him, and he did. Stories of hope and triumph are also good medicine.

To our dear friends at streetrodding.com,---You are now dear friends because we are going through something together, I have seen and responded myself to pray for others in need on this site I know how you all pull together in times of need. However, I was blown away by the sheer numbers and immediacy of the responses. Your sincere prayers and stories of encouragment are truly comforting. Audrey is progressing nicely, and I feel has been ahead of the curve in her recovery from the beginning. She has been home a little over a day now and is re-adjusting well. Outpatient therapy starts Monday, with the doctors estimation of walking w/o a cane and resumption of driving in 6-8 months. I let her read these posts this evening and she was deeply touched by them. we both want to thank you so much and look forward to meeting all of you in Springfield next year. Shine, I estimate that she`s only days away from regaining her ability to poke the porch dog. God bless you all, Audrey and Dennis

God Bless You guys also. Am so pleased with the progress that is being made. Audrey, push yourself and get well fast so you don't have to wonder what Dennis is up to. This is great news. May you both have a restful and peaceful weekend. Don't forget who is doing the healing here -- and it isn't the doctor but the Great Physician Himself.
