so i'm looking at gettin a 56 chevy halfton for my first hotrod. i know of 2 i can get and use both to hopfully get one out of the deal. i've been looking at these trucks for awhile at shows and on hotrodding sites and i really like the way these look and all the custom work you can do with one. i've had some ideas for it, like choppin the top but i'd be getting in over my head with something like that. so i'll be needing some help from all you guys to give me advice in the near future. my first thing i'm goin to have to deal with is the rust on the truck, its not rotting its self around the frame but it does have some rust to be fixed. i'll post some pictures of the truck when i have it in my shop to show you guys what i've got

Gundie, glad you are getting close to picking a project, shop carefully and if you can get some other rodders in your area to give their opinions of the scope of work required. Make sure to be honest with yourself about your capabilities before jumping in. Sometimes it is better to pay more up front, than to have a failed project.

good luck, be sure to post pics as soon as you begin. We will all be here when needed,

buy an old camaro for a donor car and you can build it pretty cheap. especially if it's a running car.
