At one time I had a part number for a temperature sensor that controlled my electric fan. It screwed into the head on a sbc and wired to a relay. It would come on at around 190F and off at 180F (approx). It was available at most all parts houses. Does anyone have the part number or application for this sensor.

HOTRONICS HAS 2, WWW.HOTRONICSPRODUCTS.COM, AND I HAVE HAD GOOD LUCK SO FAR. I USED THE HEAD SENSOR LOCATION FOR THE TEMP GAUGE (MOST ACCURATE) AND THE INTAKE MANIFOLD LOCATION FOR THE FAN RELAY SENSOR.

Anytime I have ever had trouble with fan relays, it somehow always turns out to be a grounding issue. Either the sending unit not making, or the block not grounded well enough, bad connection somewhere.

You can go to NAPA to get one. I needed a temp sensor for a VDO system, called VDO to get one, they asked if a NAPA store was nearby, gave me the part # and I went to NAPA and got it for $7 and change. Sorry but I don't have the Part # anymore. Take the part # off your old unit and ask NAPA to cross reference it. If that doesn't work call your gauge manufacturer, get the part # and go to NAPA or any other parts house.
