since the event at Hershey I have talked to several rodders that were there & a few that haven't been there since the first one.

1. attendance was down again, around 1700 cars. spectator count was also down. spectators had to pay 8 bucks to park & 15 to get into the show.

some rodders did not return this year due to hotel room prices skyrocketing for the weekend of the show.

2. a few rodders asked where to park for a certain award category. answer, "I don't know"

3. food vendor prices were overboard, 4 bucks for a dog. 7 bucks for a hot ,chews like leather beef sandwich. 3 bucks for a bottle of water.

4. two main tents and about 2 dozen true hot rod vendors, not a lot to see.

5. the PA system was playing while the entertainment was on stage.

6. Good Guys has let go 70 Representatives including the rep from Pa in that area.

7. GG`s may not return to Hershey next year

since I have attended all 3 years,I can say the car count has been down each year. the food prices were bad and the Pa system was in use during the stage act. 2 tents of vendors and rows of job johnnies isn't exactly the best set up for a car show.

Keith.........Meadors thought he would kill "Cruisin' Ocean City" I guess. Same 4 days for the 17th great year.....about 6,000 cars cruized OC. 11 Cruize spots that gave away food, trophies, souviners. Vendors. The Hennens awarded 380 trophies and placques.......6 feet tall. Jerry Dixie in the Street Rodder Magazine tour rod. Dennis Gage. Temptations.

3 days of cruizin' the "boards".

Jim & Rosina did it for 5 days.

It seems at every show now days the motels rape you. The oil companies have got you by the yang yang. Actually it's getting really expensive to have fun with your cars. Last month I attended South Nats in Knoxville...the next week end was the State run in Fredericksburg, Tx. and then the Midwest Nats. in Springfield, Mo. I got a gas bill.... big as a wagon wheel not to mention my motel bill. But...I had some fun. I think we have already lived the good times.

We always go to Ocean City that weekend and is well worth it. We are 5 minutes from hershey and Hershey Park sets the cost of food and Drink.

Hotels in this area is crazy from May 1st until October 1st because of the Park.

We didn't go to Hershey this year since last year's event was not a thriller by any means. In 2006 vendor turnout was low, food was not cheap, but much more available than in 2005 when many vendors ran out of food due to unanticipated crowds. In 2006 they also used the PA system at the same time as the entertainment was on... couldn't really hear either. I wouldn't be surprised if GG pulled out of Hershey. Hell they did it in 1997 at Carlisle which was a better event than Hershey has ever been. They have moved to three different cities in Florida after pulling out of Conyers, and now they are back in Atlanta. Probably only because they were able to get the Atlanta Motor Speedway as their site. They'd be Daytona if they could get the Speedway. It seems they only work well when they have a NASCAR track to host their venues.
