 Enjoy the Ride

I take a week off from my day job, plan to blow out my doors, you know the drill, get them media blasted, repair the rust damage, tighten up the frames, install a power lift kit and be ready for primer. So, Saturday I pick them up from the blaster so Im ready to hit it hard Sunday. Day 1: figure out how this lift kit works and see how its going to fit in My door and repiar minor rust pin holes. Day 2: fabricate brackets for the regulator and channels bars, mock it all up. Day 3: oh shit, channels are too short, window will fall out on the ground when raised, better to figure this out now than later so redo all of day 2 work. Day 4: 3pm, I got one door prefit, looking good and tomorrow I can take it apart and lizard skin it, paint the brackets and start all over on the 2nd door. The big mistake I made is only takeing a week off when I needed two.

I went through the same thing with engines in my little truck. Went from a sbc & six speed to LS1 & six speed. Had to completely redo motor mounts, trans mount, firewall & floorboards, again! Dropped back & punted several times!

Leon, I am the customer!

And that is exactly why just working one or two weekends a month on my car has made it a 7 year project instead of a 1 year project! Spend a day doing something, then the next 2 days figuring what went wrong. Still beats the hell out of workin.
