As much as I prefer to have my home page as sr.com, my employees thought I was just looking at cars everytime I sat at my 'puter. I've changed my home page to Google and added the RSS feeds for the threads and cars for sale. Very cool, good way to keep track of you all while I'm working too!

We've set up a page to list all of our current RSS Feeds. As more are added they will be listed here.

Hey Eriq, why are the RSS feeds so slow to update? Google is showing the same links in the same order as this morning, like it isn't getting updates. Whassup wit dat?

yahoo, google and the rest, update feeds on their own schedule. if you go directly to the feed itself you'll see that it pulls information in real-time but to alleviate stress on web servers these sites cache their feeds and refreshes them on schedules which they control.
i'll be adding more RSS Feeds, if you guys have suggestions for important ones you'd like added first just let me know.

I'm running Google instead of Yahoo. Updates according to their own schedule makes sense to me, I guess I was expecting RSS feeds were real-time.

I vote for a "parts for sale" RSS feed next! Anyone interested in a "new member" section?

hehe, Eric, if you use a dedicated RSS reader they will be in real-time. personally i use thunderbird (mozilla.org) for my email and RSS Feeds and anytime a new car is added to the site it appears in thunderbird within a minute just like it was an email. also, the feed itself will show the actual page of the ad rather than a link to it.

parts for sale? i can do that for you, anything else?
