I am almost finished with my latest project- a 1939 Ford, it will be for sale shortly, just got it appraised for drivable insurance. Research for the next car has begun.

My next build is going to be a 32'-34' Ford w/ a blown Hemi, or EFI Stromberg Hemi. Anyone know the difference in interior space between the 3 different years? And wheelbase length? and width?

foot room in the 32 is a bit less than the 33/34, as far as the width, I can't remember if the 32 is narrower or not.

I am also emailing you two pdf. files of the chassis demenssions

Bill---- There is 6" more depth from dash to back of cab in a 33-34. The overall body is 1 ft longer than a 32 also. Width if I remember right is 2" wider at dash and the same width at the rear. That is interior.

My previous build- 1928 Ford Tudor Sedan I had 6 Strombergs on a hi-top crossram, all progressive, all polished, ran good- but no performance- its only a cool look.

I've heard nothing but BAD about theose stromberg EFI setups, the Mooneyes ones. One of the examples is someone I know personally. Service is, well there doesn't seem to be any. The guy I know basically ended up thowing the junk computer and starting from scratch to get the thing to work properly + dyno time.
I'm X38 on any other sites. [ View ] [ Email ] [ Blogs ] [ Car Ads ] Sydney, Australia

Hey, Bill......what body style has you droolin' ?? Got them all here including 2 Fat '37 s. Most 3 windows are good for 6' 4" & 235 # if thin buckets. What is your height and weight?

Actually, best if you do hands on at rod runs and cruize nites.....whatch those boards when you get in.

Fun with rods. Jim

Hey Jim, 6'1" 220 lbs , I am still in the plannin phase, just about got this 39' finished up, little bit left to do.
I am probably leaning towards the 33' and 34's . I have done alot of steal cars, never bought a glass body, and never bought a whole frame. Bought pieces, but I am trying to figure out if its more economical to build my own frame from new pieces, or just get one done, and at what stage completed. It kind of feels like cheatin to me, compared to how I am used to building these.
I am also considering my labor and money vs. a shop that can put these out cheaper than I can build one. Engines and Trans. is probably what I can do best, thats where I know I can save alot of money. I sell alot of done motors and transmissions, but the body itself is a different story, no connections or deals in that catagory.
