But Rick those magazines are your legacy. That's what I keep telling my wife. But I too have decided to get rid of old street scenes and GG Gazetts. Hey the things we do for love. Den
You know you guys read my mind, sort of. I am looking at old issues we have (from the 60's, 70's and 80's ) of Car Craft, Hot Rod etc. We are running out of room and will be having to move so before I have to lug them all out to a new house. Maybe we need to have a used magazine /Car stuff section here on the site? You know for stuff that is not parts. What do you think Eriq?

I to, am guilty of keeping every issue of "Streetrodder", "American Rodder", "Street Scene", ect. ect... I have ever bought. I will also be moving soon, and I've decided to get rid of them all! If any one is interested, I'm giving away HUNDRED'S of pounds of magazines from around the mid 70's on up. COME AND GET 'EM!!! THEY'RE ALL YOUR'S!
I used to keep them all but started to run out of shelf space. Street Scene was the first to go followed by the Goodguys Gazette. Neither have any redeeming value as neither cater to the how to articles. I still keep my Streetrodders and my Rods and Customs as they have some excellent articles that may be useful someday. If not, they may end up on the heave ho list as well.
I take my old mags to the Doctor and Dentist offices. Better reading than the old Better Homes & Garden. The other guys like it. My Doctor thanks me. Sez it saves hime some money, too.
I have tons of old issues also, but I do go back and look up articles. I always wanted to do an index of the articles I thought I would need. Street Rodder used to do that each year. Has any one tried to do that? I figured that would be a good use for the computer. I always figured that would be a good winter project. Oh well, maybe when I retire and have nothing to do!
Two things about spring cleaning; 1st I always seem to stop to read my old magazines so I never make any progress in the cleaning department, 2nd, that item that you haven't used in years that is covered with dust in the deepest darkest corner of the shop is the first thing you throw out, right? You'll need it next week.
I am looking for the issue of "Street Rod Builder" that had Bobby Allaway's 34 coupe with the track style nose on the cover. Tell me your price. Also I have sent all my Magazines to service men and women in Iraq and also found some 10 to 12 year old boys that were at our car show that had a ball going through the boxes of magazines and car related publications to get pictures of cars they liked. A great way to introduce new blood to our hobby and keep them away from those dreaded "TUNERS".
