Isn't that the new mandated safety feature to help prevent road rage? Just don't drive that sucker in an electrical storm.

I had the same problem a few years ago. I called Ididit and they told me about a shear pin that was not making a good connection inside the column. They can walk you through the whole problem, and give solutions.

Gene, check under the button for wire clearance from the button or a pinch point on the wire, your contacting the button at some point when you press it

Check the ground wire comming out of the colum. and make sure you have a good body ground

I have basicly the same setup that will shock you while your working on it, but once its assembled, its fine.

My Flaming River column would shock me when attempting to use the turn signal lever. Almost made me want to go back to hand signals but most of the younger folks wouldn't know what they meant or pay any attention to hand signals. Ended up being a pinched wire under the turn signal assembly.

The reason you are getting shocked is that your aluminum horn button is not grounded to the wheel or the adapter. It has a 0-ring around the center button tat insulates it from the hub. When you honk the horn it charges the field winding in the horn relay and when you let off the horn the field collapses and induces a high voltage back to the button. The button is isolated from the hub and your hand is the path to ground. Most billet horn buttons have a small tapped hole on the back where you can hook a wire and run it down to one of the threaded holdes in the hub. When you hook the two together you won't light up any more.
