I ordered some basic parts from them 14 days ago, and they never sent the parts. I have e-mailed 2 times already- no reply.

I thought they were supposed to be a good shop?

My money certainly cashed ok for them !

I hate to badmouth them, but I ordered 1 time because I wanted to support 1 of our site sponsors. Any body else have this problem?

Bill I e-mailed Rjays and asked him to check out this post. I am sorry for your trouble, my order was delivered in two days. Did they say it was in stock when you ordered? I am not trying to make excuses for them just surprised.

I just contacted them again, we'll see what happens?

Tammy- I initially ordered from them because of the Forum a couple weeks ago, when someone posted the link about Summit, and you reposted about supporting R-Jays. So I thought buying from them would be a good site supporter thing to do. They wont even contact me back, phonecall or e-mails !

HI KIDS -

I guess I'm living my biggest dream and worst nightmare all at the same time! We started our business 8 years ago with some $99.00 website software and a Mastercard. The website and the business have gone through some major evolutions over the years, and I'm proud to say that we have been absolutely swamped with business - I couldn't be more pleased!

With that being said, the nightmare is the realization that our business has grown faster than we can keep up with. We try our very best to process orders quickly to keep our customers happy, but there are always cases where an order has back-ordered parts, or for some other reason the order will slip into the wrong pile, etc. My personal conviction is to treat our customers with the utmost respect and to provide good service, but it doesn't always happen. In some cases I would not want to be my own customer! Not because we don't try, but things don't always go the way we think they should.

Take Mr. Hartman's order for instance. We didn't have some fittings in stock so his order was forwarded to our supplier to be sent directly from them. I didn't realize that the supplier was also back ordered on the fittings so Bill's order was put in their back order pile and that's the last I knew of it until I called to check on it. I'm not sure why the emails didn't get answered. Sometimes we get busy and get behind on information seeking. This is NOT an excuse, just an explanation. Although we are sincere about the way the conduct our business, I have to be honest and say that things like this are going to happen from time to time regardless of good intentions.

We always try our best to UNDER PROMISE AND OVER DELIVER, but sometimes we OVER PROMISE AND UNDER DELIVER!

WE ARE VERY GRATEFUL FOR ALL OF OUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS,

WE TRULY APPRECIATE THE CHANCE TO TAKE CARE OF YOU!

Good forum post R-Jay, you sound very honest and sincere. I understand sometimes things happen. I like what you have had to say. I can imagine big business can be difficult sometimes. I think alot of business's have lost that Family treatment mentality, and its nice to deal with a shop that still appreciates its customers, who keep them going. Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill -

Thanks for understanding and thanks for thinking we are a big business! We have a whopping 2 employees including me, and the other employee (Tera) is on vacation this week!

Sometimes I'm amazed at the amount of parts we push through this place in a days time. I guess the only thing I don't like is the big mail order guys (S____t and J___s) have made it really tough on small businesses like ours to survive. We have 2 employees because I haven't figured out how to afford more!

Again, I appreciate your understanding and your business. I'll try my best to locate your fittings and get you taken care of. I also want to thank Tammy for bringing this to my attention - she is a bonafide RJay's supporter! You know how news is - good news is silent, bad news is loud!

Thanks,

RJay

Streetrodder thank you for supporting the site and giving Rjays a try. Isn't it nice to talk to the owner and have him handle your concerns personally. That is why I love the forum! It allows problems to be brought up, evaluated and hopefully solved.

A note to Rjay, I am glad to help put you in touch with your clients and help to make this a good experience for everyone. Being a one armed paper hanger myself I can understand what it feels like to be swamped. Hang in there.

I have purchased from RJay's in the past and have had no problem. I even order an incorrect part and called him and he sent me the correct one with no delay. My experiences with RJay's has only been positive.

BIGDUDE - I have gotta say, your posts always make me laugh!

I dont ever want to sound like a complainer, those people really, really annoy me.

In hindsite it did make me very happy how R-Jay addressed this small situation. It shows me good credability on his part. There are still good honest stand up people in this world.

Now about this beer sponsor idea .................LOL hahaha

To know me is to love me-at least thats what the warden says. I do have a serious side though, but generally I am a jokester at heart. People are way too serious sometimes!

I've never ordered from Rjay's, but a business with the cahones to post an apology and admit their shortcomings wins my approval. I think we should all support them by wearing the free T-Shirts and hats they send us.....

The old-timers will tell you that you can never be too honest. I think RJay's out to prove them wrong.......I know this: If I were trying to sell turn-key rods, I don't think I would be advertising the fact that my entire operation consists of me and 2 other guys..... That would convince me to look elsewhere if I was thinking of having him build me a car. Can't imagine the turn-around time being anything within reason. But, like everyone else, I appreciate his honesty and wish him the best.........

Codfish has a big shop-you would prefer one of his ? As long as your not trying to build 4 cars at once thats no problem.

you can get some of the best work by small shops with guys who take pride in their work over bigger operations where the employees are just punching a time clock. i don't think you can really make a determination like that based on the number of employees. but hey everyone's input is always appreciated!
