lokar has the button on top you push in. i have one ( not on the road yet ) so i can't tell you how good it is but so far in mockup it's ok.

Lokar is a great shifter======= i think the gennie is a little easier to operate because u don't have to push a button an much easier an cheaper to change nobs on. both seem to b quality product.

Have a Gennie on the Model A, works great never had a problem, been in use over 10 years. Few of my friends have used the Lokar haven't heard any complaints. The Gennie you have to move the shifter to the left to move it from park, with the lokar you push a button. Just make sure you use a neutral safety switch.

I have a Lokar in my 39. Easy to install easy to adjust. No problems. I never tried the others.

I have a Lokar in my 31 Chevy and it works very well. Neither Genie or Lokar comes with an indicator, it will have to be purchased separately. If you want to have it NSRA inspected you will need the shift indicator.

put a Lokar in dad's 33 coupe, works great. has the neutral safety built in to the base, easy to adjust. The only drawback came when he wanted a skull shift knob......because of the locking button in the knob he had to buy one that was compatible. Our '38 has a shifter out of a Ford minivan, made an adjustable rod with 2 heim joints for linkage. I used an aftermarket starter button for a neutral safety switch, mounts on a small angle and is only depressed when the shifter is all the way forward in park.

Orange, I have a Lokar shifter and have liked it a lot. I had used a gate shifter for quite a while before that and like the change. Works great and reasonably priced. I recommend it highly.

Used lots of Lokar stuff. Never had one I didn't like nor did I have one that wouldn't go into the gear I was choosing.

Lokar has an adaptor now, you can put any knob you want on it.

we stock the Lokar due its quality and the Button lock out. Can't acidently knock it in/out of gear. The indictor for the shift pattern is on the knob as standard eqipment. about 8 different knobs available as well as the adaptor to use any knob you choose. Service and parts are superior with Lokar If you want you can also purchase the electric LED pattern indictors for either the dash or shifter boot.

they make the saddle mount that bolts directly to the trans, and is adjustable as to location of shifter front to rear, a tailmount that only bolts to the tailshaft bolts and a floor mounted version, your choice. Easy to use and lasts forever

tell me more. about the button,do you have to press it to move to any gear?if you shift real fasts will it go to the next gear or stop on the next gear.i guess what i am asking if you push the button in 1st gear will it stop in 1st are go to neutral?i am looking for simple operation.my project i am building now is not a race car but a performance cruser, if i get the urge to pull trigers, close levers, push up and down on the shift lever,i will drive the orange thing
