Do ya think , this being the 75th of the 32 had anything to do with it?

Please tell me your kidding???

The Rad rides by troy built 36 should have won without a doubt at this show..

There wasn't any competition if you ask me.

Just talked with Jim "Bones " Noteboom and he confirmed the 36, rightly so.

Thank god.. I was about to flip a lid on this one.. If they voted the 32 a winner I probably wouldn't be going back.. Everybody there was talking about how the 36 dominated all.. This car is simply undescribable in how nicely built it is.

O.K. Al where did the miscommunication come in on this? Do we have pics of the 36? I know I will probably get beat up on this but don't you think Troy has enough trophies? I mean I am sure his 36 was fantastic but sometimes I get tired of watching the same big name, big money builder winning all the time. Troy was coming to the show here in Springfield last year, would have cost the event $5000.00 just to have him for one day! If money was no object what would you all build? Would it be Riddler quality?

No offense but if he's the guy building the best rides he deserves the credit.. Anybody can contend, he built things up to where he is now. Since he has trophies should he quit competing. hide in a cave, or prove himself over and over as a premier builder.

Basically what your saying is that if he's doing the best builds right now he shouldn't be allowed to compete, because he is to good. that makes no sense to me..

And at the same token the riddler trophy isn't the only trophy to be had at the show.. their are a lot of trophies to be won and all have good rewards for winning..

I'll look at troy's work any time I can.. gives us something to look up to..

I screwed up that was the 1999 Riddler winner..... here's the 1936 that won this year.... (I don't like the dash and firewall at all)... http://www.streetrodderweb.com/events/0703sr_detroit_autorama_ridler_award_winner/

That is quite nice looking. Don't see the problem with the dash, but as for my comment about Troy winning. I guess too many reality shows and the direction of my beloved drag racing sport have soured me a bit about big money getting all the attention. I never meant to say his wins were not well deserved. Congrats Troy

It's nice to see a car with that actually looks something like what it did originally (a 36 Ford that really looks like a 36 Ford) I appreciate all the stylized cars, but this thing looks more like a hot rod. Can't wait to see it. I'm sure it'll be at Del Mar in a couple weeks.

I agree I love the fact that it does represent a street rod still.. He captured that really well.. It's the detail when you get up close that really grabs your attention though.

I agree with Big Al.

As good as the '36 car was, especially the undercarrige engineering and detail,

the engine, dash, & interior was "unusual". IMHO not appealing at all.

Clearly though the car was deserving of the Ridler.
