Get off the trailer and drive

Got a problem! Since moving to a low humidity area I cause sparks with just about everything I touch. Hate to go to Wal-Mart and touch the door. Went to dust off the 'glass car and when I was done there was more dust on it that when I started. I can hear the snapping as I wipe and things come and stick to it (tumble weeds, cats, etc) I thought about a ground strap from me to the ground but where I would have to hook it to if anyone stepped on it...ouch! I tried water, misting it on but by the time it's dry static buildup is back. Any ideas...solutions?

Jerry, An old trick I learned years ago, when i was doin a lot of paint work on boats. wipe it down with non-perfumed static sheet, like the ones yer wife uses in the dryer. Pulls all the static out. Been doin it for years,as I said , even do it right after I tack off a glass body before I paint. Good luck Don

Yeah Jerry, it is bad out here. I'm even thinking of trying to learn to arc weld with my finger tips up here on the mountain top Will you be around to go check out those yards you found during the first week of next month??? The school generously gives us a week off next month, and since I'm still looking for sheet metal for my truck project, I'd like to come down and take a look at whats there if you have the time. Steve, I don't have anything planned but at my age I don't buy green bananas. I am planning on going to the Southwest Nations in Oklahoma city of the weekend of the April 13-15 come to think of it. Does that fit your schedule?

Good idea DON about the dryer sheet, another trick of the trade! I have never heard of that, but I'll try it, cheap and cant hurt.

The dryer sheet trick does work, but doesn't it need to be a used sheet? One that has been through the dryer? I use those to wipe my TV screens off with. Also, they make a spray called Static Free. Sells in Wal-Mart etc
