I'm having problems with getting my Budnik wheels polished. I have tried both Adam's (Step 1 and 2) and Mothers and still can't get all the "water marks" off. I'm thinking about buying a Mother's PowerBall to use with the above polishes, but would like to know if they are as good as advsrtised. Even elbow grease takes 10-15 minutes to get even the smallest water spot removed. There isn't that many spots on the wheels but they do detract from the overall appearance.

Has anyone used one of these 'miracle' tools, and/or are they worth the money? Thanks.

I have the large model but I don't think it was worth the $30 I paid for it. I was going to use it on my wheels but discovered they had a clear coat of some discription on the wheels. Not wanting to risk screwing up the finish I did not use it on them. About the only place I do use it now is on the polished aluminum valve covers. I use a product called "Never-Dull" which is a aluminum polish, but turns very black (wear gloves) as it takes off the oxidiation. If the foam Powerball snags on anything its toast, because its only made out of a very light weight foam. Elbow grease might be the best answer in the long run.

I have a large power ball and find that it is to big and awkward for me. Don't seem to work on my chrome rally wheels as it is to big. Some day I might try the smaller one.

I too have the big Powerball and don't use it. Too big and clumsy, plus it takes half a jar of polish to load the ball. Maybe the little one is better. I've tried them all but found Mothers Billet metal polish with a micro fibre cloth gave me the best results. I takes time and a lot of work on scratches and water spots. I also discovered that light pressure on your rag works better than rubbing hard.

I have both power balls and I really like them, but it does take more polish. I like Flitz polish.

TXLumpy,

If you're going to the LSSRA State Run in Fredericksburg, I'll take that power ball off of your hands.

have any of you tried the product metal armor. i have and it works better ( and easier to use with a whole lot less rubbing ) than mothers or flitz and a number of other miracle wonders on the market. a little bit more expensive, $20 a bottle, but you use very little to go a long way and you don't need power balls just a rag. cleaned a set of old aluminum valve covers that hasn't seen daylight in 30 years, short time later looked better than new, they are on rod now and people have asked who's repopping these old style double breathers. if interested the web site is www.medfordtools.com/metal-armor/

I'm a big fan of Mother's prooducts and have used the powerballs extinsively. Yes, it takes some gettin use to and yes, they use a little more of the $7.00 a can polish, but in the long run they will save you time and do the best job. Remember, once you remove your water spots, each time you polish it will get better. Takes me bout an hour a month to keep my 18's lookin new. And blieve me. I know about polishing an engine.

P.S..........Don't expect very good results if you use an ordinary drill or weak a%& portable. I use a Craftsman 18 volt portable drill. It has enough power and spin to work the powerball. Dip your finger in the polish, smear it on a 1/4 of the wheel, polish that section and move on.

david, I sold many of the products, power balls, never dull, fritz, and so on, the best product I sold to the classic car, bikers and truckers, was product called WENOL for metal polishing and they also sold one for paint. Everyone told me how they liked it. Now am using it solely on all metals. Makes a Quarter look like crome. Note; if you have a clear coat protection on your item nothing will help unless you remove the coating. I had to do this with my wheels on my 29 Ford, I just had them sand (bead) blasted, after that the where always shiny. Good Luck
