Gene,
I have ANPAC Chrome policy (American National Property and Casuality Co)I have it on both Streetrod's, my daily driver and homeowner's their rates are comparable to what I use to have however they offer a 25% Rebate on premium if you don't have a claim for three year's. If you have a claim waiting period start's over. Not offered in all State's but the Company Headquarter's is in Springfield, Mo, maybe you qualify. A friend totaled his '40 Ford last summer he had this coverage and they cut him a check for $49,500 with no hassle, he was insured for $50,000.00 less deductable of $500.00. Larry PS. third time trying to post this info

I got Grundy ( www.grundy.com ) and they have a very good rate with very few restrictions. They don't care if you go out for an ice cream or anything else that is not associated with going to school or work. They don't even care how much milage you put on. Stated value, very important. They are in the business of exortic aircraft, cars etc. They don't do the family car. Check it out online for a free quote. Have not actually had to use it yet (hope I don't). I hear Sneed, Robinson etal are coming down in their rates also. Knew a guy who had a claim thru Sneed and the very first question was "Is everyone OK?" Then they wrote the check.

ANPAC Springfield Mo HOTROD said it all. I use anpac on all of my items. Chrome I think was the brain child of Janet Clark and you should see the cars they have. When I get my 55 f-100 done it will be insured by them. I was about to get the 25 percent back then my wife went and hit a deer with her car so that ended that. If you want I can give you the name of my agent. Good Luck.

I use Auto Owners, had good luck, I have about 7-8 policies with them. they do classics as appraised value.

$40,000 coverage per Streetrod costs me $280 a year

Grundy Worldwide is easy to find, because all the best advertise here!!! Highly recommended by our SR members. But don't forget Answer Financial, Inc. another proud sponsor and solution for your insurance needs.

Hey, Gene........of course we all say, accident?, no way. Howev er, if there is one, don't expect the company's appraiser to be familiar with street rods....snag. Never go with your daily driver insurance company, Geico,,,,who I have been with 50 years, Allstate, Nationwide, Erie...you get my drift. Compare apples to apples. Shop around with the companies that specialize in your type of car.........you will end up with Grundy Worldwide.

Over the years I have been with several different insurers. The first was Hagerty. Great company excellent service and response to claims. They are a liitle pricey, in fact I am currently with Grundy and have basically the same coverage for half the cost of the Hagerty policy. Can't speak to claims with Grundy as I have not had any, and really don't want any. You will find that premium pricing is all over the map when researching collector car insurance. Some companies offer lower rates but have miles driven restrictions. If you can live within the restrictions (or trailer your car alot) they can be a good deal. So far Grundy seems to be optimum for me.

I recently went to Hagerty. They saved me a bunch over having the Corvettes and my truck project on my regular Allstate policy. I checked Grundy but they replied that they weren't taking Corvettes at the time. I thought that was strange since they advertise that they do and even have Corvettes in their ads. A couple of others didn't want my uncompleted projects so for me Hagerty worked out the best.

I went with Hagerty last year so I could get the flatbedding. For Fifty dollars extra per year you can get up to three flatbedding pickups a year in a 50 mile radius.

I had a Cobra kit car guy tell me a couple of years ago that no one would insure a Cobra anymore. People have too many accidents with them. Just before I had heard that. I knew of a guy who had just finished one. I don't think he had it done a month when a woman ran into him and totaled it. He got his money for it though. And I would think her insurance paid for it.

I went with Grundy. Asked my regular insurance agent for a quote, price high and low mileage limitation. Only problem I had with Grundy (and it could be my misunderstanding) is they only offer towing in California and New York.

Grundy. Remember you are basically just insuring what ever you set as an amount of money.

I have used Grundy also for about 2 years. No claims but they seem very helpful and easy to work with.

Have used American Collectors Insurance for muscle cars and vettes and I highly recommend them. I filed two claims with no hassle and a '67 vette was 100% destroyed in my garage fire

When I had Hagerty I also had there Roadside Assistance Program the first year at $30. The second year it went up to $50, so I dropped it. I get the same service fom AAA including up to 100 miles of "towing". Figured I did't need both. With AAA all you got to do is tell them you need a rollback for pickup.

That's one of the reasons I left. With two cars it was over $600 annually. For my cars, Grundy varies between $6.50 and $6.70 per $1000 coverage.

One difference though, is that Hagerty will allow a person younger than 21 who is a family member, drive your vehicles with your permission and still be covered. Grundy does not. In fact Grundy requires that you sign a youth exclusion document, listing all under 21 age drivers in the household as they will not cover them in the event of a loss while they are driving. I don't particularly agree with the requirement but my daughter driving one of my cars would be a very rare occasion and certainly not worth the extra $400 annual premium.
