Still driving the wife's car, cause I am slow.

Anybody watch qualifying last night? Pretty slick, John Force's daughter Ashley has moved up to Funny cars. She will be racing her brother-in-law Ron Hight in round 1 today, if it stops raining out there.

I watched, but I'm getting kind of tired of this team thing. I say that all pro classes should run the manufactured engine that was put in those cars stock. That----would make things VERY interesting and more realistic just like the old days!

Just like nascar, cubic dollars.............Even Pro-stock is too little about the manufacturer of the car.I still prefer the door slammers> Gassers, super stocks, but they don't get a lot of tv time

I like the Top Fuel Classes, Its to bad that they are limited so much. I think they should have an all out unlimited class. Soon there is a class coming that are basicly Top Fuel concept based on small ci motors. When you limit the Race cars you limiy innovation

I went to the Outlaw Shootout in Orlando several years ago. It's a run-what-ya-got thing and you have to be able to run 25 miles (fuel stops ok), shut the car off and restart in 10 minutes. DOT tires too. If you are not running over 200 MPH, don't bother unloading. That is some real heads up racing.

You know as much as I dislike the 3-4 car team thing, I usually root for Force himself when he wins. I remember the lean years, about ten I think ,that he was a" boil the hides driver"! He was kinda a joke! Any body that gets that cranked up doing what he does, gets me excited too. I love it when they interview him and he gets all shook up talking about a run.

Bigdude, I agree with your comments on John Force, he is a show within a show when they get him on a mike. I watched most of the races last night until I had to go to sleep (4:30 am comes to damn early at the start of a week). I also agree that the engines should match the car. And by the way Ashley Force is still single and still available for any of you young dudes who think you got the magic touch. Having John Force for a father in law can't be all bad, unless you get on his wrong side.

yea, I like John Force too, he's earned all that he has, but the multi car team thing is outta hand, he had a quarter of the field, plus he's big on the "team order" thing, teams in my opionion should be two cars max per class

i think the man helped nhra with tv coverage, especially the show with him and the girls, heck my wife always tracked it down when it was on. missed the Sundya night coverage but will watch the hi-lights next week.

I think the show is taking a toll on his driving though. If you think about it last year when the show started taping, his driving wasnt good! Only when he had to at the end of the year, he got his stuff together.

I have to agree with bigdude on the driving and his show. I don't know if the show has really helped Drag Racing to become more popular. John is my favorite but the show made me hate his family. As for Hight, he is indeed married to John's oldest daughter Adria and he has a new grand daughter....Autumn Danielle.

The BIG boob thing is required in California. The air is so scarce they have to expand their 'lungs' to get in enough air. I had a guy tell me at the LA County fair that'you can't trust the air if you can't see it.'

Bernstein, etc, etc, kept John Force in the background for a long time but he showed up when they retired.

I don't care for John's wife, she treats him horrible. Now maybe she has some history that has caused her to treat him badly but she has to understand that being on TV with him and doing this show she has made herself look like a b&*(%.

At the Gator Nationals one year my wife waited a long time for John to come out of his trailer so she could get his autograph....he didn't! I kept a close eye on his actions and even after the race I understand a real winner will be very intense and rerun the race over and over but he just ignored everyone until he saw a camera crew. Rant, rave then disappear into his trailer. Other Top Fuel and Funny Car drivers made it a point to make themselves available for the fans. Two stand out Blaine Johnson who stopped seting his clutches and talked to us and Cruz Petragon who worked the crowd like a real pro.

I guess every pro takes the weight of their fame differently....Not having been to a national meet for a decade or so I only get the camera's view point and I know that is skewed. All you can guarantee is that the feel in your chest as a Fuel car goes by is something you will never forget. As for Force and family, she doesn't come off very well in front of the cameras, and i sure wouldn't want to be a father to those girls either.

I guess everybody has good days and bad days. Can't (and wouldn't) speak about John's wife, but at a local cruise night a while back, I was standing behind a guy in the beer line who was trying to figure out how to pick up four large plastic glasses of beer at the same time and when I made a smart-ass comment that I help him drink some of the beer, he turned around and laughed. It was John. He said thanks, but he could handle it and then bought me and my buddy a beer. Seemed pretty nice to me without a mob around him. The body press must get pretty old.
