I know this is not on my streetrod but I can find no other information. How hard is it to replace the pinion seal on a 2005 magnum. If this does not fit in this forum, just delete it and thank for the help in advance.

never done anything that new, but generally there is a large nut behind the u-joint, you will need a torque wrench and the facotry spec to put it back after the seal is changed. There is a crush sleeve behind the seal, it can be done without replacing it, as long as you get the torque specs right.

Pinion seal is gone already? Must have 300,000 miles. Might be a recall.

Frank, I had the same question a month or so ago. A lot of feedback, most said just remove the pinion nut and replace the seal. Torque the nut back in place or as a couple guys said, count the threads off and back on. Hope this helps!

Mark the nut/pinion with a chisel first so you know where you started from. Them count your turns when taking it off. Match the number of turns on installation and you will be fine.
