NTBA T-Bucket Nationals 2008
|
Well Springfield, IL was thrilled to see the great rides attending the NTBA T-Bucket Nationals. This 4 day event began on Wednesday June 18th and ran until Saturday June 21st. There were hundreds of T-Buckets all over the city of every shape, size and description and a nicer group of folks you could never hope to meet. I traveled on Friday with my children and a couple of their friends in tow remembering that if we do not take children to car events how will they ever continue the hobby we have all grown to love so much. Most owners of these fine hot rods must know that too because several offered the kids a chance to sit in their cars for photographs. I met people from Arizona, Michigan, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, and even a few who washed in from Iowa. Based on the crowd I feel it is safe to say that most states were represented at this event. This was definitely a crusing event. You could see T-Buckets all over town each and every day. The base for this event was the Route 66 Hotel but there was a "Cash Fun Run", Tamale throw down, and a couple of burger burns taking place too so you had a great mix of driving and visiting for all who attended. I took a few pictures on Thursday and Friday. There were some really great looking cars and I would say that if you are not a member of this group you might consider joining.
