Bob, if you are still needing a 55 body, it is time to check craigslist, New Mexico, Albuquerque. Put in 1955 as the search item. There are some new ones there, let me know if I can look at any for you.

Is an i-pod the thing that puts a bunch of songs on a small chip that you plug into your radio? 46
Before I got my New computer I used a program Called SONIC That I could make my own Cd's from Cd"S by Picking the songs for the new CD, Great program & it works great. I'm sure it is available might check it out.
Not an electronics geek but I understand you can get a radio now that has a plug in for an MP3 player. I use and MP3 player (Apple Shuffle) witch is the size of a stick of gum and hold 500 songs. The sound quality is great too. No need for a bunch of CDs. At a show you can clip the MP3 player to you and use earbuds then zone out.
Certain CD players can also read CD's in MP3 (data) format. So, you can have a CD with several hundred songs on it too. But, as above, the easiest thing is to have a radio with a MP3 input, and just plug in a MP3 player (like an iPod). MC
Bsa Bob....I have a Kenwood radio / cd / everything in my car. I won it ! I know absolutely ZERO about it but I found out it had an USB port? Duh? Long story short, my kid put about 15 CDs on this thing called a "flash drive" (another Duh?) It's the size on your thumb and works great. No more CDs for me. Now I have to learn how to operate the radio. Man, it's tough getty old!
Ihave a IPOD that even has a built in Radio and video Camera to boot i have 115 songs and 30 min.vioeo on it with 12.8 Giga space left
What What is all this stuff i have a am radio are they ok?
Sorry Jim,
am radios use tubes and they are power eaters. Because they eat power your gas milage goes down, more power must be used to run the radio than goes to the rear wheels. This causes a condition usually know as "Ford Power". You can do one of two things. Dig a big hole and bury the radio (don't let the EPA find out) or you can get a triangle "slow moving" sign for the back. This is also know as the Amish Power. Look at their wagon and go to the front and count the horsepower. This comes full circle to "Ford Powered"! Thik I'll get hate mail?
I couldn't have put it more "eptly" willys 33. AM is not on the table for discussion?.No ill will attemped here. I just want some decent music i choose-----witout installing a dumb looking antennae on the fender, Whats so wrong with that Dixie??
I like my sounds, Pipies and the open road !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't need no stinkin radio/cd,ipod, shypod, chip (only chocolate)
Nuttin !!!!!!!!!
In answer to Bob's question emusic.com is what I use. I download to computer then to MP3 player, I assume you could do to CD. But I have 541 song's on my player and that would be a butt load of CD's to have to carry around. Player plug's into Radio with USB cord.
Chocolate nuttin!!Sounds good to me.34 guy.Emusic i am getting bad reviews on. When you decde to move on to bigger thing they don't like the money trail to be shot down. I;m goinng to a elecrtreonics shop now and get this mp3 deal . if alls well wih my questions i ask them
Bob
I've had very little trouble with Emusic, when I have had download problem they have always responded and kept me happy
. Plus their prices are about half of iTunes prices.
This is reassuring to me ...thank you Larry! bob s
most new radios dont come with cd players any more. they have a plug port for ipod or memory cards. below the a/c vents is the port.
RS luggoboy -------------Yes i made the mistake of putting a nice new radio between her and i , in the seat riser of my t-bucket back in 68. It was one of the worst dollars i had spent [useless NEW!! radio] Course -----it wasn't all in vain . i could get a hold of her leg....and tell her i was hunting for the radio occasionally, that was a plus. But for music it was a loss , there was no such thing as head phones. I was told here----- to put my music on a i-pod and take it with me in each hotrod when i go. NOOO------- that isn't what i'm looking for.I want to hear it thru my speakers. This plug into the radio is what i wil do i think thanks all bob s
Radio in a Roadster, that like ice tea with no ice.
Don't need no stinkin radio in a hot rod.
Enjoy the open road and the view.
And oh yeah
DTPOOI
